Pippa Lea Pennington

Pippa Lea Pennington is an artist working in nearby Koringberg where she has lived for the last 9 years. She uses a variety of sizes and mediums to capture the beauty of the natural world all around her.

“A First Nation American elder said that human beings were created to reflect the beauty of the world back at itself. I spend many hours in my studio trying my very best to do just that.

We live in an increasingly insane world full of darkness and destruction, and yet, out of my window there is a sunbird burying its long, curved beak into the flower of the succulents I have growing on my stoep and in my garden, sipping at the nectar they make. It never ceases to stop me in my tracks.

My wish is that viewers of my art will also stop and look and marvel that this beauty exists in the same world as pain and war and hunger.”
